Y.O.U. Expands to Serve More Youth

Late last year, the Illinois State Board of Education awarded Y.O.U. grants to launch new afterschool and summer learning programs at Dawes Elementary School (Evanston), King Lab Magnet School (Evanston), and Lincoln Junior High School (Skokie). The awards amount to $420,000 per year and are renewable for up to five years. The grants will allow Y.O.U. to serve 1,000 additional youth by 2017.

With these grants, Y.O.U. will be serving youth every day at ten sites -- seven Evanston schools (Chute, Dawes, ETHS, King Lab, Nichols, Oakton, Washington), two Evanston community locations (Grace Lutheran Church and our headquarters), and one Skokie school (Lincoln Junior High). This expanded scale will allow Y.O.U. to build an even stronger and more impactful program, as well as to attract new resources for our youth.
